Where is Home? Within my walls of skin and bones I carry all that I need to be at home. As I bend into a tent and extend my limbs My arms and legs create my base. Sheltered upon the earth, My folded body stretches, holds firm. I rise like a tree, roots embedded. My branches reach beyond the stars. I find sustenance in the fruit and seeds Wherever I’m planted. Years of beginnings and endings Renewed daily Solace in the glint of light Warmed by the sun, Charmed by the stars. I listen to my inner whisper, To the voices of the past, To the voices of another culture. The smiles, the tears, the winks, The embraces. All of this, I absorb and hold within my fold. Places change. Comfort is to be given, A gift of release, An opening of space, secured by trust. Given this, I’m at home.
