I watch a bird fly by I notice a heart shaped rock I bend down to follow a row of ants A dog has left a present on the sidewalk All these are outside of me Crossing my path Distinct beings, born into existence As is the man who walks with an umbrella closed By his side, just in case of rain And the elder lady, older than me Who passes me daily, waves And we smile. Each entity exists without me I tune in briefly And tune out as I pass. My purpose is separate And still we share briefly Letting go to dance in Our own creative way. Love is within each separate being And we are blessed to cross paths.
