Nostalgia- A song, a smell, a scene-
I made a playlist of songs of the 70s and 80s
When I collected records
With hard earned money.
I play these with the hope of those times
With words and notable vibrations
To jolt the world into light.
Add to these, Latin rhythms
The beats of when I lived in Puerto Rico.
I was the taster, judging the 19-minute roast.
Spoiled forever, I’m still particular.
My soul roused be the whiff of challah bread
And the sweet smell of dunking cookies,
Baked with my Bubbie.
Now I do this alone.
All these entwine together,
Ropes of strength and history
They wrap me in joy,
Shielding me from present days’ woes.

What helps you from the past to manage the present.
