Lost Keys I once read a children's book That claimed, if you lost the keys, Throw away the house. But how do you do that if the key belongs to your heart. Who knows your rational answer Hides a tear, that rips through love Or that you’d rather climb a tree Then drive a car. Be atop a camel, with oversized lips Cud chewing with intent. A walk in intense heat Or bundled in layers With the prize of awe And sensual satisfaction That lasts longer in memory Just as the salt streams down your face. There is no fob to click No key that renders an opening. Perhaps locking one’s heart is foolish. The opening too precarious, the opposite Shutters to keep the window of hope alive.
Wouldn't it be great to never have to lock any doors. Mine are opent to you. You can find me at http://www.abberolnick.com
