Caught in a Storm-- North, South, East, West
Baltimore snow drifts, high enough to
Swallow a five-year-old.
Lost in white I had to fight.
Biscayne Bay
Crossing the Causeway,
A twirl of wind
Blackened in tornado gusts.
A sixteen-year-old
Shaking in trust.
Puerto Rican Gales
Palm trees like sales
The hurricane lifts a thirty-year-old
High above the cars
Dropped on cliffs edge
Crawls to safe harbor.
Storms travel, even if I stay still
And then there are mind storms
Quelled by
The ferocity of
Nature’s redeeming beauty.
