Boundaries
There is no bubble around my being.
No line of demarcation that separates my soul
From that of another.
Permeable, I receive all—
The angst and the joy.
A shield of protection, armor against bad intenders
May preserve my physical form
And seal off the openings.
Once closed
Consequences prevail.
Bound to others
We share and mingle; soar above, dive below,
Create echolocation, a bird’s radar to avoid
life’s obstacles.
Boundless, the eyes see through
Cell walls that bind.
Leave the window open, the door ajar.
A breeze of humanity
Welcomes all from afar.
