It’s been ages since… I’ve lived in on the East Coast Having ventured to an island And settled on the West Coast. It’s been ages since… I’ve lived with another Sharing the same bed The same memories It’s been ages since… I’ve eaten meat Well done, end cuts Heavy on my insides It’s been ages since… I’ve had short hair That curled And grew to long waves It’s been ages since… I’ve chopped wood Or had to use an outhouse In the woods It’s been ages since… I’ve been proud of my country Who’s lost its way Unhinged with greed. It’s been ages since… I held regret in my life For now, I’m present With all that is left. The ages pass But life keeps coming Since the beginning of time.
