Inspiration comes in fits and spurts, laced with time, warmed with the heart. Each of my offerings began with a whisper, a pause to see, hear, and reflect.

Chaotic Nature
Chaotic Nature
Behind the seeds of growth
Rain falls
Snow encases
Flowers bloom
A tree rises to meet
The sky
And the sun and moon
Take turns
As the earth revolves

Letters; pictorial views
Letters; symbols connected with meaning
Letters; a pathway to communicate
Letters; the foundation of civilization
Letters; a bridge over centuries
To meet our eyes

One step forward, one step backward
One step forward, one step backward
The dance of vulnerability
A weave of self-discovery
Life’s opportunities can’t be denied
To take the first step
To find the rhythmic pull
To move without direction
A pattern emerges
Vibrant color of courage

When, Where, What, How, Why?
When, Where, What, How, Why?
Questions of time, place, manner and reason
Ground us in the ways of the world
Scientists become storytellers
Search to create answeres
Change one piece of the puzzle
The result different
We know only what we know
The rest is to discover

Lost of Found
Lost or Found
When you find a chard
An item with no known purpose
Do you search?
Or let the piece with ignorance?
Lost to found to discovered.
Curiosity can enlighten

A stranger reaches out
From concern and need
Fragile life

My words mattered

Be generous with feelings

About Abbe
Abbe Rolnick grew up in the suburbs of Baltimore, Maryland. Her first major cultural jolt occurred at age 15 when her family moved to Miami Beach, Florida. To find perspective, she climbed the only non-palm tree at her condo complex and wrote what she observed. History came alive with her exposure to Cuban culture. After attending Boston University, she lived in Puerto Rico, where she owned a bookstore. Once Stateside, she capitalized on the knowledge she gained as an independent bookstore owner and worked for one of the finest bookstores, Village Books, in Bellingham, Washington. Once a CEO of a manufacturing firm and owner of a healthy foods café, she is now retired and spends her time writing.
