Inspiration comes in fits and spurts, laced with time, warmed with the heart. Each of my offerings began with a whisper, a pause to see, hear, and reflect.

Silent Sounds
Outside the baseline
A confluence of
Insects, bird, nocturnal creatures
Buzz, sing, howl
Fill the void
Calls me to attention.
As the wind stills
A storm brews
A tidal, waves
The hush asks
Where are you?
New Songs
Five beats of tempo
Open the door
To insight
Can you wait
As the decision
Made
Needs a path
More beats to
Form music
A Gift
Take me as I am
But
I can choose
For I will not
Fill your holes
I only give my heart to
Someone who expands theirs.
Scavengers
The groundwork of years in full bloom
Gone with the wind
You let bygones be bygones
Lifestyles uprooted and replanted
You forage the garden of life
And discover fruits and seeds
Intermingled
Hybrids begin again.
Intersections
Ambition alone is only ardent desire
Aspiration is the making of dreams
Inspiration applies a vision
Motivation creates a plan
Only when they intersect is there success
Spinning
Along the axis
Of worldly rotations
Continued motion
precludes inevitable
Emotions
About Abbe
Abbe Rolnick grew up in the suburbs of Baltimore, Maryland. Her first major cultural jolt occurred at age 15 when her family moved to Miami Beach, Florida. To find perspective, she climbed the only non-palm tree at her condo complex and wrote what she observed. History came alive with her exposure to Cuban culture. After attending Boston University, she lived in Puerto Rico, where she owned a bookstore. Once Stateside, she capitalized on the knowledge she gained as an independent bookstore owner and worked for one of the finest bookstores, Village Books, in Bellingham, Washington. Once a CEO of a manufacturing firm and owner of a healthy foods café, she is now retired and spends her time writing.
