Lanes and the ABCs of Life
The rules of the road
exist so we don’t encroach on others.
Like the ABCs of life,
I have stayed in my lane.
Not disturbing the peace of others.
Years move fast, spill out,
As waves roll over, erasing lines.
Redirect purpose, connection, emotions.
To a new set of rules
That intermingle, obscure, reveal the blind vision of lanes.
The world opens.
Paths intersect, right is left to fend for itself.
Wrong reverses assumptions.
And the world turns upside down.
Gravity holds me. I cling to a treetop.
Touching the blue sky
Vast and open
  I find kindness.
